The undergrounding compound of the line starting at Polstead Heath is in a very poor location. It is in open countryside, very visible from roads and public rights of way and is planned to be on good productive agricultural land. If it was moved less than a kilometer east and the undergrounding started in the old gravel pit, over which the line currently runs, then the undergrounding compound would be completely hidden from sight and on old waste land, not good productive farm land.
