House is on the market as looking to retire and move back to North Yorkshire. Unable to sell as prospective buyers are concerned about the disruption caused by this major infrastructure project. The timescale of 3/4 years plus is delaying our move/retirement to be near grandchildren as we also provide holiday care. Our septic tank and soak away are within the proposed area and this will affect use of our property. Have requested the red line to be moved (via our surveyor) but this has been refused by planning. House is situated right next to the road and access for the project and compound. The noise, dirt, disruption will be horrendous and unbearable to live with. Potential for damage to the house from subsidence or ground movement from the heavy plant/machinery as house is so close to the area to be tunnelled. Request that National Grid purchase under a compulsory purchase agreement to use as offices etc.
