There has been no proper consideration of undergrounding through Hintlesham and diverts large distances around the fields surrounding Ramsy Wood. The wood itself has already been cut in half by an existing pylon infrastructure. The existing routes are being abandonned rather than being maintained, upgraded or having a parallel underground line following the existing route. The new route is claiming new land where the future value of the land is arguably priceless. Ramsy Wood is protected by RSPB, a neighbour of the well known RSPB Wolves Wood. The area as a whole is a beautiful special landscape equivalent to an AONB and should be afforded the same rights. The wildlife and the countryside is increasingly scarce and a priceless asset to be enjoyed by future generations which includes the populations living in towns who need fresh air and an escape. This is one of the the few ancient woodlands remaining on route from Hadleigh to Bramford. The scheme will lead to a further concentration of pylons leading to an almost total loss of countryside as the line reaches its destination. During the covid pandemic people wanted to move to and live in the countryside to escape industrialisation, therefore Britains natural landscapes must be kept intact.
