I wish to express my concerns at the damage that these proposed works are likely to do to the historic landscape in which stonehenge sits. The decision that has been made to give priority to the movement of traffic through the construction of a tunnel is extremely short term. Once damage has been caused to the immediate environs of Stonehenge it can never be restored to how it was. I am particularly concerned about how near the works will go to the recently revealed Blick Mead area, which it is increasingly realised is central to the understanding of how this ancient site was used. I should stress my interest is just a general one as an informed member of the public.
