Apart from the obvious environmental damage which is caused by road-building and the disastrous change of the topography and accessibility of Stonehenge itself, this whole project is a wast of money and resources and the only beneficiaries will be the contractors. It is also another example of bureaucratic intervention which is doing its best to ignore the weight of public objection to its foolish project.

My main objections are in regard to necessity. This seems a wasteful, damaging and entirely unnecessary scheme and will do irreparable damage to the surrounding environment. There are countless other uses for the money that will be spect - consideration should be given to those projects which directly effect the inhabitants of the island and not idiotic cosmetic indulgences like this.
