I think it is awful that an area of such worldwide historical importance is to be subjected to such potentially damaging activity. Once done, the damage done can never be undone and historically and scientifically important evidence will be lost forever. I can't imagine this being allowed to go ahead in other historically important parts of the world such as Carnac, Brittany. All this just to for the sake of a road, how selfish!
