I am totally opposed to this scheme which will cause irreparable damage to this unique World Heritage Site. The tunnel, associated works, construction process and ongoing management will destroy the interrelated complex landscape which must be preserved intact for us all and future generations. The danger is that we impose a destructive scheme to alleviate a transport problem which could soon become solved in other ways. We will regret this quite quickly but it will be too late. UNESCO has said very clearly that it opposes the scheme. The scheme will cause damage to the Blick Mead Mesolithic site. The public will lose the view of Stonehenge set in its wider landscape. We will have to 'pay to view'! I am also concerned about the impact on wildlife particularly birds.

Please think again. It is better to do nothing at this stage than to rush headlong into a costly disaster.
