A tunnel will have problems if an emergency occurs where emergency services will have restricted access to reach those who might be injured, such as in an accident resulting in a fire. Damage to many unknown and known treasures of circa 6000 years old that will not be recoverable such as has already happened. Although an alternative route taking the A303 further away and out of sight of Stonehenge, may be more expensive, cost should not be the main reason for the existing plan. We have experienced such bad permanent environmental damage with roads such as with the A34 at Newbury and Winchester so it will be irresponsible to do so at Stonehenge,
