Both as a historic monument and as a holy site, I feel Stonehenge should be left alone. Yes, I know it has been 'tidied up' in the past! Nearby earthworks could in any case damage the fabric of the monument and weaken the earth structure underneath and close by which would risk the stones moving. As a holy site it would definitely alter the subtle vibrations that have been imbued into the stones by hundreds of years of prayer and ritual. Please do not underestimate the special qualities of this structure and its environs, with its alignment with the sun and the attraction it has for spiritual people to this day for religious and spiritual rituals. For many people it is a source of great light and holiness which would be greatly disturbed by the intended works.

Stonehenge is an ancient and venerated monument, exquisitely designed to align with the sun at midsummer and no doubt especially built to comply with many other natural natural phenomena as well. Any ground works near this location will cause disturbance to the infrastructure, however subtle, which present a risk to the structure as a whole, as well as disturbance to the holy feel of the place. Add to this pollution from building works and traffic passing nearby and there could be real dangers to the stones. It is not worth the risk.
