I am wholly against the building of the A303 Stonehenge expressway because it will cause irreparable damage to the WHS, its archaeology and setting, described by UNESCO as a "landscape without parallel". Their international advisers have also said more recently that the scheme should not go ahead in its present form. They cite concerns about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting. Looking at the plans myself I also agree that they lack alternative options that would not damage the World Heritage Site. I also worry about the loss of the view from the road, need to pay to see the Stones in future and increased noise from faster traffic would all bring damage to the site. Of similar but equal importance, it has come to my attention that the building and later traffic would disturb the rare bird species in the area: the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard.
