This scheme is indicative of transport infrastructure projects in England in that it is poorly thought out, value engineered to death and: Puts the car user above all forms of transport Puts roads before amenities or people Ignores the unique features of the landscape Ignores the unique history of the location Costs a fortune to shave seconds off a journey (just set out earlier - or queue the momentary inconvenience of a motorist is as nothing compared to an ancient world heritage site.
