I feel it is important not to implement any change in the A303 in the vicinity of Stonehenge. Certainly not flyovers or underpasses both will have substantial impact on this ancient world heritage site, destroying its beautiful setting.

Traffic both sides of the approach to the site go from 2 lanes to 1. Creating 2 lanes would prevent traffic build-up and would be an easier and less disruptive option than the elaborate and costly plans proposed.

Your planning proposals are costly, they would spoil the landscape of the area, endanger rare species of birds. They are unnecessary as a two lane traffic would prevent congestion rather than at present where there is a congestion problem because of 2 lanes filtering into 1. It seems obvious to widen the single lane into 2 will alleviate the problem of congestion but has not been considered. This suggestion is simple, not costly and will not spoil the sighting or cause disruption to bird life of Stonehenge and the surrounding land.
