The whole of the landscape and its archaeology is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The new road will irreparably damage important parts of that, including damage to the Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting, risking its eligibility to be a World Heritage Site. It will also cause damage to wildlife, specifically the disturbance of rare bird species, as well as increased noise from faster traffic. The stone circle will no longer be seen from the road, unless one pays to visit it, thereby robbing citizens of the view of the most beloved prehistoric monument of our heritage.
