I feel that this Proposal will cause irreparable damage to this World Heritage Site, its archaeology and setting, described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’.

Please take on board that UNESCO’s international advisers say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form.

I do have many concerns about the substantial damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting.

There seems to be a complete lack of alternative options during these consultations and this has been a great worry for me. We really do need to see other options that would not damage this World Heritage Site now and in the the future.

The loss of the view from the road that I have seen over the past seventy years will be one of the saddest parts of these proposals. I visited the site many times as a child and along with many others feel a deep and very real connection to these wonderful stones and surrounding areas.

There will also be disturbance of rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard) by increased noise from faster traffic.

The fact that one will have to pay to see the Stones in future is terrible prospect. They belong to us and to the World and need to be in plain sight.

I beg you to reconsider these proposals because one the damage is done to this landscape it cannot be undone. There is so much more to discover underneath this whole huge area, as the technology moves forward. Please let future generations discover what we cannot as yet discover.
