This is an important World Heritage site and must be afforded the maximum possible protection. This plan does not do that.

Vital information about our ancient heritage lies over and under not just the stone circle, but over a much wider area. This frail record would be seriously damaged by any scheme that damages the surface and a sensible depth below it.

Any "cut and shut" method would be titally destructive and, to achieve the foregoing, a proper deep and bored tunnel would be needed.

Archeologists should be alowed to monitor as work proceeds.
