To desecrate the land surrounding Stonehenge and to isolate, more than it already is, Stonehenge itself, to take away its power and loneliness as it was set in the landscape, is to ignore its heritage. UNESCO put forward its views which seem to have been ignored. Why does heritage have to bow down before the mighty combustion engine! To be frank, I am just pleased that I visited, weekly, before traffic became a priority, I still have my memories!
