The immediate area of Stonehenge and its wider surroundings form a single whole which is nationally and internationally recognised as of unique historical and cultural importance of the highest order. It is absolutely essential to protect and preserve it as intact as possible for both enjoyment and the immense possibilities for further study. The present plans would do irreparable harm to it.
