Dear Sir or Madam, A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down (Stonehenge) scheme I wish to object to the above as any disturbance of a World Heritage Site (WHO) and its archaeology, particularly one described by UNESCO as a “landscape without parallel” is a very serious matter. I fully agree with the UNESCO advisors when they say that this scheme should not be allowed to go forward in its present form. The archaeology of the Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its environs would inevitably be damaged by the current scheme and, in my view, this should not be allowed. Highways England have conspicuously failed to produce any options for a new road which would not damage the WHO during the consultations. For all of the above reasons, in my view the current scheme should not be allowed. Yours faithfully, Keith Harcourt. M.A. M.Phil. Independent Scholar

I wish to object to the Highways England A303 Stonehenge Expressway. Objective 1. to turn the A303 into a "high quality route" is not required as the M4 already exists and could be widened. Objective 2 - Economic Growth " To enable growth in jobs and housing" will not benefit the area around Stonehenge, much of which is used for military purposes. Objective 3. Cultural heritage: "To help conserve and enhance the World Heritage Site and to make it easier to reach and explore" breaches the Unesco World Heritage Site designation as it is the entire landscape around Stonehenge that has been designated. Objective 4. Environment and community - is no more than a socio-political figleaf attempting to mask the proposed butchering of the most iconic archaeological site in the world. I urge The Planning Inspectorate to turn down any application which like this one damages the archaeological sites around Stonehenge.
