I object to this scheme on the following grounds:-

In the first week of Dec 2018 archaeologists said a 6,000-year-old site near Stonehenge was 'damaged' by Highways England engineers monitoring water levels as they dug a 3.5 metre deep bore hole through the prehistoric platform in preparation for the tunnel. If that's indicative of the level of care that is going to be taken of the site during the work they ought to be banned from going within 100 miles of it.

It would damage a jewel of the UK and the world's archaeological heritage and its setting, described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’, in utterly irreparable ways.

The scheme raises very real concerns about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting.

An expert team of international advisers from UNESCO itself say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form.

Faster traffic means more noise.

The original consultation included no alternative options that would not have damaged the World Heritage Site.

A tunnel will result in the loss of the centuries' old view from the road, and people will consequently be forced to pay to see the Stones in future

Important rare bird species, such as the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard, will be disturbed.

Please do destroy in the spurious name of saving. If this scheme passes it will destroy a unique prehistoric landscape merely to save some drivers a few minutes on their journeys. Please, no.
