The planned road building is likely to destroy important archaeological evidence on a site which has shown itself to be extremely important to the understanding of Stonehenge in its wider context. Apart from the value of the research from an academic standpoint, any increased understanding enhances the site as a tourist attraction. Improved access does not justify destroying evidence that can tell us so much about the past.
