I would like to suggest two points for consideration...

  1. I suggest there should be provision for the A360 to be rerouted from Longbarrow junction along (i) the new A303 across the River Till, (ii) most of the northern section of the B3083 (restored to A-road status), (iii) most of an upgraded 'The Common', and (iv) a short new link to the current A360/B390 junction. This would remove through traffic from Shrewton and its struggling roads & bridges, and remove the last A-road from the Stonehenge bowl - allowing the World Heritage Site to be expanded to include the many additional archaeological finds west of the current WHS up to & including the west bank of the River Till, and reunifying the ancient Stonehenge landscape bowl between the Avon & the Till.

  2. I suggest the pair of tunnels past Stonehenge should be shallower. This would put them largely above the water table - so reducing the risk to artifacts currently preserved in waterlogged ground. It would also allow them to be split into a pair of tunnels east of Stonehenge Bottom & a pair of tunnels west, with a canopy linking them in the largely scoured, artifact-free & previously disturbed valley at Stonehenge Bottom. Additionally, it would allow the western tunnels to start further west nearer Longbarrow junction - further from the artifacts near the currently proposed portal.
