Stonehenge is a World Heritage Site and it's value to our nation is beyond price. Apart from the all clear objections about the damage to adjacent sites, threats to wildlife, loss of view from the road (which doesn't bother me unduly), I am registering my concern about this proposed project's place in the history of our nation's heritage.

Whatever landscape and highway changes are carried out, Stonehenge and its environs, that is say ALL megalithic and other archaeological sites in as wide an area that includes them all, will be affected in some manner. It is crucial that this project is the best possible solution from an archaeological and heritage perspective because whatever is done now will have to stand up to future judgements. Anything that is destroyed or any poorly devised landscape changes must be extremely carefully thought out in order to to avoid the project becoming famous as a black mark on Britain's past with regard to such works. The financial aspect and the highway aspect must be placed lower than the irreplaceable archaeological and landscape preservation. This an opportunity to been to get it right and leave something that future generations will be proud of.
