I object on the grounds that the proposed solution ignores internationally recognised expert advice and does not take into account the wider archeological importance of the surrounding site. The proposed development is destructive to the setting of the monument and the planned position of the road tunnel encroaches on the setting because the tunnel is too short. I make this representation as an interested party in what is one of the most important ancient archaeological sites in the world and I believe that the advice given by UNESCO and leading experts in the field should be heeded before irreversible damage is done to the site.
