Stonehenge is a site of international importance and the land around it contains much that is still to be investigated by archaeologists. The fabric and character of the visible and invisible structures in and around the monument must be preserved from any disturbance so that archaeologists may be free to pursue study into the future and so that the site may be accessible for the public to visit and to experience its special and unique nature. Such monuments have a worth which cannot be expressed in terms of money. They encapsulate our identity as a nation and our values. Therefore, as a country we must protect, preserve and respect this site, and roads must not be developed anywhere in the vicinity.
