I have listened to the fears of people who are experts in Stonehenge and it's surrounds, and believe their opinions must be respected. This project is opposed so widely, both nationally and internationally, that blindly pursuing it because of a belief in the primacy of economic benefit over all other considerations can only be described as institutional vandalism. The project should only be completed to the satisfaction of the afore-mentioned experts and if that is not possible then it should be cancelled.

I am following the opinion of the numerous individuals and bodies who are specialists in the site who are against the proposals being put forward by Highways England. The assurances given by Highways England that their plan will cause minimal damage do not persuade me they can be trusted with a site of this importance. Much of the Stonehenge site is still un-researched and this road will inevitably destroy history about which we are still unaware. The blind policy to build ever more roads also flies in the face of the Governments own environmental policies and the essential need to reduce car use.
