These plans are likely to:
cause irreparable damage to the World Heritage Site and its archaeology and setting, which has been described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’. UNESCO’s international advisers say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form.
damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting
impede alternative options in consultation that would not damage the World Heritage Site
cause loss of the view from the road, and create the need to pay to see the Stones in future
disturb rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard)
increase noise from faster traffic
