The construction of a dual carriageway at the western end of the tunnel will cause irreparable damage to much archaeology and ruin the integrity of this unique landscape. Visitors to the western end of the World Heritage Site will have their experience marred by noise from the dual carriageway and their inability to cross from one side of the A303 to the other. It is highly regrettable that the opinion of ICOMOS-UK is being ignored by Highways England.
