I am hugely concerned about the damage to the wider Stonehenge landscape, something that is so valuable that it has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status, and I believe that UNESCO advice has been to not go ahead with this scheme in its present form. The value of this landscape is priceless.

Why haven't there been alternative proposals that would not damage the World Heritage Site?

One of the great joys is being able to see the stones from the road - that is impossible to put a price tag on - and the new scheme would prevent that.

It would also result in increased noise from faster traffic

In addition there are many other specific concerns such as damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting; the disturbance of rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard).
