The Stonehenge World Heritage Site is a unique and priceless landscape, so important to us for so many different reasons. The damage to the site caused by the building of the expressway could be catastrophic, and would certainly be unacceptably damaging to our unparalleled archaeological heritage, to the monuments, to the landscape, to the wildlife of the area, not to mention the economic cost to the country. There has to be an alternative plan to route the road away from this amazing site, of which we are so fortunate to be the caretakers, and which we can never ever put at risk.
