i strongly object to this major disruptive and potentially destroying road works through one of the most iconic 'sacred' and prehistoric sites of england and indeed the whole world. Seeing the stones in the distance while driving to and from the west of england is an evocative experience for locals and tourists alike. To be forced to drive through a costly tunnel instead is ridiculous. Only last week, a very ancient prehistoric 'platform' was severed through by road workers to the horror and grief of archeologists who had not had a chance to examine it. I heard them on the BBC, very upset about it. What else will be lost if this goes through for the sake of rushing through our countryside ever faster and faster.?
