It goes almost without saying that Stonehenge is the most important prehistoric site in these islands. It is clear to many within the historical and archaeological communities that the proposed development could do untold damage to what is a uniquely precious site. The development is premised upon an inadequate grasp of the potential dangers and instead prioritises a dimly understood and fundamentally flawed commercial case.
