I am seriously concerned about the impact of this scheme. Firstly any new road will generate MORE traffic, causing increased noise from faster traffic and possibly further backing up of traffic in busy periods.

The road and tunnel will also cause irreparable damage to the WHS, its archaeology and setting, including damage to the Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting (UNESCO has described the stonehenge environs as a ‘landscape without parallel’)

Rare bird species such as the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard, in the area will be further disturbed by the work if it goes ahead.

There should have been included in the consultation some alternative options that would not have damaged the World Heritage Site!
