Our history and legacy must come first. The Stonehenge monument is one of many special areas of scientific interest in a unique landscape that will be destroyed for ever if a tunnel is allowed to burrow past it. Other routes need to be considered giving this area a wide berth. This country has the funds to widen existing roads elsewhere. If the tunnel goes ahead then this can be perceived as a green light to bulldoze through anything - nothing will be held sacred. What kind of a message is this to the people of the UK?
