The 1805 Club’s interest is in the history of the Georgian Royal Navy at the time of Lord Nelson. The Nile Clumps were planted soon after the Battle of the Nile in 1798 and there is a risk of considerable damage to them from the A303 Stonehenge plans. However we were much pleased with your representative Esther’s good news to us last August when we visited the Clumps. Nevertheless we remain concerned about the possible impact and loss of some of the Clumps.
