The land around Stonehenge is sacred land. Stonehenge was a central meeting place for the British tribes. Leylines run from here all over our blessed country. We are constantly uncovering new artifacts and information from the local area. Any major construction project would disturb the energies and potentially rob us all of the opportunity to discover the answers to many religious mysteries. How is it that the fast movement of traffic is more important than our history? The energy of the land does not all sit on the surface. Cutting down into earth disturbs all the deep roots which feed the magic of the Stones, as well as other mounds, circles etc. in the area. The physical vibrations from the flow of traffic under the ground would resonate up into the henge itself and make impossible the experience of connection with our ancestors and their faith(s). It would ruin the that religious ecstasy. You would not think of driving a motorway underneath Winchester Cathedral - well I assume you wouldn't.

The fact that the stones are visible from the A303 is surely important as well. It reminds people as they pass by that amazing monuments have been created in the long, long past when people were supposed to be very primitive. It awakens in some the idea that our ancestors were not that primitive.
