PROW:

The proposals within the application unjustly affect existing public rights of way and fail to make adequate provision for their conservation. This is contrary to both the recommendations and findings made by Planning Inspector Michael Ellison within paragraphs 10.245 and 10.640 of his 2004/05 report to the Secretary of State.

Safety:

Extinguishing motor vehicle rights of use on the c.400m section of A303 between Amesbury byways 11 & 12 would compromise road safety by compelling motorists to seek an alternative route via either the A360 or A345, where slower-speed motorcyclists would be exposed to a significantly increased road risk.

The omission of motorcyclists from both the mock-up images and video published by Highways England is an unacceptable oversight. The needs of motorcyclists are not the same as other motorists and require a learned, evidence-based consideration undertaken in consultation with experienced motorcyclists.
