Stonehenge, Blick Mead & the whole WHS landscape are under threat from this scheme, potentially losing the "World Heritage" status assigned by UNESCO. This is an area containing a unique collection of prehistoric activity sites that have still not been fully explored by experts & are far from being understood. Early work near Blick Mead may already have caused irreversible damage to this delicate site & further work must be guaranteed to cause no further damage or be refused permission. There are no alternative options that would not cause damage to the WHS as they are all within its borders. I am also extremely concerned about the loss of or disruption to the habitats of such rare birds as the Stone Curlew (which is protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981) and the Great Bustard (which is on the IUCN Red List of critically endangered species). This project threatens the population of Stone Curlews, while threatening the reintroduction of the Great Bustard to the UK. Permission needs to be refused on these grounds as the developer cannot possible ensure no disruption to these rare birds.
