I have have listened to the concerns of archaeologists and I believe the tunnel development cannot ensure that the archaeology of this important and yet not fully understood landscape will not be damaged irrevocably.
I also believe that forthcoming vehicle automation -- both full and part autonomy -- has more potential to eliminate congestion along this route than a tunnel will. Therefore, I am concerned that this is a waste of public money at the expense of our prehistoric heritage.
