Stonehenge alone is not the whole matter. The landscape itself is a historic monument which should not be interfered with for the convenience of those driving through. One point of the Henge itself is that it was built for all to see and appreciate- who will see it with a tunnel ripping through the ground. . As a local , I see it as a signpost to home, a link to our shared past and the whole landscape as precious.
