I object to the proposed A303 Stonehenge Expressway for the following reasons:-
- It would do irreparable damage to the Stonehenge World Heritage Site (WHS), its archaeology and its setting. UNESCO describe this as a 'landscape without parallel'.
- It is the opinion of UNESCO's international advisors that the scheme should not go ahead in its present form.
- It would also damage the Blick Mead mesolithic site and its setting.
- No alternative options whcih would no damage the World Heritage Site have been proposed in the consultation or fully considered.
- The experience of visiting the Stones will be damaged by the increased noise from faster traffic.
- The future need to pay to see the Stones is wrong for a feature of such national significance.
- Rare bird species (stone curlew and great bustard in particular) would be disturbed.
