The unique site of Blick Mead represents the oldest site of the Stonehenge archaeological landscape, dating back to the Mesolithic period c.10,000 - 8,000 BC. As such, it places the monument and renowned sites in a wider context as just part of a much wider story that is arguably unique on a global level. Existing preparatory surveying by Highways England has already caused potential damage to the site, which cannot be permitted to continue through the current development plans.
