There will be extensive damage to this world heritage site. Stonehenge is integrated into a complete landscape, it is part of a much larger environment and is not a 'stand alone' monument. The digging of the tunnel will irreparably destroy vital archeological evidence that throws light on who we are and where we have come from.
Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its surroundings could be significantly damaged.
International advisors from UNESCO’s have stated that the scheme should not go ahead in it present form.
Little or no consideration was given to alternative options to the present destructive scheme.
Faster traffic through the area will result in a significant increase in noise.
Rare bird species such as the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard will be detrimentally affected by the work and could be lost to the area.
