  • There will be extensive damage to this world heritage site. Stonehenge is integrated into a complete landscape, it is part of a much larger environment and is not a 'stand alone' monument. The digging of the tunnel will irreparably destroy vital archeological evidence that throws light on who we are and where we have come from.

  • Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its surroundings could be significantly damaged.

  • International advisors from UNESCO’s have stated that the scheme should not go ahead in it present form.

  • Little or no consideration was given to alternative options to the present destructive scheme.

  • Faster traffic through the area will result in a significant increase in noise.

  • Rare bird species such as the Stone Curlew and Great Bustard will be detrimentally affected by the work and could be lost to the area.
