The tunnel will cause irreparable damage to a World Heritage Site, its archaeology and setting, described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’ UNESCO’s international advisers say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form I am also concerned about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting. There was a lack of alternative options in consultation that would not damage the World Heritage Site. The view from the road will be lost and future generations will need to pay to see the stones at all. This is unthinkable and immoral. The stones are part of our cultural inheritance. Scheme will disturb rare bird species (Stone Curlew and Great Bustard).
