The new proposed road across the River Till valley in Winterbourne Stoke is to high and will be extremely noisy for the village and will be environmentally damaging, on the previous plan that was approved (2004/05)by the inspector the B3083 road went over the new by pass road via a bridge that accommodated the local and farm traffic. The dumping of spoil from the boring of the Stonehenge tunnel in Winterbourne Stoke by the side of the B3083 is unacceptable it will be dumped on land that is already chalk down-land and within the boundaries of Parsonage Down Nature Reserve it will also create extra traffic in and around the village even if a new constructors road is built. My preferred option to accomadate the tunnel spoil is to place it on the MOD land out on the ranges from the Bustard on the plain as this will be less obtrusive, there is a direct route North from Longbarrow Junction from the boring site without affecting any habitation. The existing road through Winterbourne Stoke should be retained for traffic after the By Pass is built to retain easy N/S and E/W movement many village pubs for example at Wylye do good business from motorists requiring non motorway food. Finally I have serious concerns regarding the amount of underground water at Stonehenge bottom.
