The height of the viaduct as proposed on the A303 northern bypass of Winterbourne Stoke is FAR TOO HIGH. The impact it will have on those who LIVE in the village of Winterbourne Stoke should be the priority, not whether the gradient is better suited to lorries, or to protect the small stream beneath, which is dry much of the year.
The B3083 between Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton should go OVER the new A303. The current proposal with the A303 flyover is illogical. Building the noisier road (the A303) over the minor B road will have a far greater negative impact on our village, significantly raising the volume of noise from the traffic and increasing the effects of light pollution.
Our village desperately needs a bypass - we have been waiting for 30+ years - but the legacy on our village if this isn't carefully thought out would be disastrous. As currently proposed, it would have a worse impact than what we have at the moment.
