Our response relates only to the works in the vicinity of Rollestone Crossroads. We respond as owners and farmers of the land to the SW and SE of the existing crossroads.

  1. We note that the design for this area has been modified during the consultation process, taking some of our comments into account and are grateful to the Project Team for this.

  2. Furthermore, whilst we are anxious to keep loss of agricultural land to an absolute minimum, we recognise the benefit of the proposed works for the wider community.

  3. We request that an access be provided to the field to the SW of the existing crossroads at the location of the existing crossroads. This would to reduce the need for agricultural traffic approaching from the North to travel along the "diversion route" and would more closely replicate the current situation.

  4. We request that all of the field accesses be detailed and surfaced more discreetly than shown on the DCO drawings, to avoid attracting parking or antisocial behaviour. Our preferred design is slightly lowered, reinforced, vegetated verges.

  5. As the crossing point between the fields SW and SE of the crossroads has been moved from the top end of the fields (as existing) to the bottom, verge levels will need to be carefully detailed to prevent escape of any surface water from the fields.

  6. In view of the above, we request involvement in the detailed design of the field accesses.
