I believe that the introduction of a tunnel under the landscape of Stonehenge will greatly dame its prestige and sense of place as part of the UNESCO world Heritage Status. By digging up the land with heavy machinery it will not only destroy the landscape but also damage and remover much important archeology. The disruption caused would not be worth the risk to the physical and spiritual nature of the site, I believe it would be a huge mistake in the course of the history of this land. It would be in better taste to enhance the roads that link the 2 ends of the A303 to make it suitable for traffic flow and then in time close the section that passes so close to these historic stones, this would be a better solution than to destroy the landscape for our own benefit.
