This plan will cause Irreparable damage to the WHS, its archaeology and setting, described by UNESCO as a ‘landscape without parallel’. UNESCO’s international advisers say the scheme should not go ahead in its present form and yet this has been ignored and this plan submitted. There are also concerns about damage to Blick Mead Mesolithic site and its setting which the plan does not address. The consultation lacked alternative options that would not damage the World Heritage Site in any way despite such options being available. This plan will also cause significant disturbance of rare bird species such as Stone Curlew and Great Bustard which is completely unacceptable and the plan will cause increased noise from faster traffic. The plan is not fit for purpose and will cause irreparable damage to a World Heritage Aite and cannot be accepted.
