I am opposed to the road work along A303 that will effect the Stonehenge landscape. I have visited the site repeatedly and have researched the region extensively, included presenting classes at my local university on the topic.

My objection lies with the heavy-handedness of the proposed project. Most of my ancestors come from this region and I feel that my views are every bit as relevant as a UK citizen’s.

I object to the fact that, as proposed, irreparable damage will be done to one of the most significant archaeological sites in the UK.

Although, in principle, I would love to see a tunnel replace the surface road, I object to the degree of disturbance proposed within and around the Stonehenge landscape.

Clearly, a more circumspect and delicate hand could be put forth on this project. Apparently, to the best of my knowledge, I would have to say this due consideration has not taken place except by the many archaeological specialists that are also objecting to your proposed project. You should listen to us. We know what we are talking about.

Clearly the UK is a very rich country and could easily afford to do this right. Not to do so based upon cost is spurious at best and down right greedy at worst.
