As one of the world's most important historic sites the scheme seems to me to be an appalling intrusion and an act of irreversible vandalism to what has been a sacred site since prehistory . I live next to the M5 and the constant loud noise of traffic is very hard to live with, this would hardly be conducive to a peaceful experience at Stonehenge . This area includes the Mesolithic site of Blik Mead or Vespasian's Camp ,which could be damaged irrevocably . I have not seen any alternative schemes for this expressway .
